1. Who we are
The Shri Sital Das Jain Foundation is a registered family trust based in Panipat, Haryana. When you share information through this website, the Foundation is responsible for handling it. You can reach us any time using the details in section 11.
2. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to consider and provide our support. Depending on which form you use, this may include:
- Education & Skill applications: the student's name, date of birth, gender, contact number and email, permanent and correspondence address, parents' or guardian's names and occupations, family income, details of the school/college and course, admission number, fee details, and academic marks.
- Identity & documents: the last four digits of the Aadhaar number (we do not store the full Aadhaar number in our records), a government family-ID number, and uploaded documents such as a photograph, marksheets, the family ID, the institute's fee structure and a recommendation letter.
- Contact, volunteer and career forms: your name, email, phone number, and whatever you choose to write to us (message, qualifications, availability or a résumé).
- Student accounts: your email address and a password, which is stored in a secured (hashed) form — we never store your password as plain text.
3. Why we collect it
- To assess eligibility for financial assistance, skill programmes and other support.
- To verify the student's identity and enrolment, and to pay fees directly to the institution — never as cash to a student or family.
- To communicate with you about your application and the support provided.
- To keep accurate charitable records and report our overall impact to our trustees.
4. Consent, and information about children
We collect and use your information based on the consent you give when you submit a form. You may withdraw that consent at any time (see section 9).
Many of the students we support are minors. Where the applicant is a child, we ask that a parent or guardian provides or supervises the information and consents on the child's behalf. We use a child's information only for that child's welfare — their education, skills or health support — and never for advertising or any harmful purpose.
5. How we store and protect it
- Your information is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (provided by Cloudflare) and is encrypted at rest.
- Uploaded documents are kept in private storage and opened only through short-lived, secure links.
- Access is limited to authorised Foundation administrators, trustees and mentors who need it to assess or provide support.
- As noted above, we store only the last four digits of the Aadhaar number, and we ask that uploaded Aadhaar images have the first eight digits masked.
- Forms are protected against spam and abuse using Cloudflare's security check.
6. Who can see your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only where necessary:
- With the school, college or institution concerned, to verify enrolment and to pay fees.
- With the Foundation's trustees and administrators who manage the support.
- With service providers who help run the platform (our hosting and email providers), who may process the data only to provide that service.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide support and to maintain our charitable and statutory records. When it is no longer needed, or if you ask us to delete it, we remove it — unless we are required to keep certain records by law.
8. Cookies
We use only the cookies necessary for the website to work — for example, to keep you signed in to your student account — and Cloudflare's security check to prevent spam. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
9. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- see the personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your information; or
- withdraw your consent to our using it.
To make any of these requests, contact us using the details below and we will help. There is no charge for this.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Any significant change will be reflected on this page.
